Transgender wife

My wife (was my husband ) are trying for a baby but just found out that in order to get pregnant she needs to stop taking her hormones replacement tablets so it will help the sperm getter better ,even though it can take years for it to rebuild up.feeling sad as I can’t ask her to do that as been a women makes her happy and she always comes first. We have been given a form for a fertility clinic to have a meeting with them but not sure if she carries on taking the tablets then the appointment will be a waste of time? Does anyone have any information on we’re we can go from here plz
