Why does no one ever ask about the mom?

One thing I have noticed since having my first child is that no one really ever ask you how you are doing. 🤔
They always ask how the baby is? Is she eating ok? Sleeping ok? Pooping ok? Etc. 
Yet no one has ever asked me how I am doing or if I need anything. 
I guess this is why a lot of woman end up dealing with PPD. I kept quiet at first because I didn’t want to seem like a failure but enough is enough.

Cause they don’t care about us 😂😓
My son is 2.5 & his pediatrician still asks me how I’m doing when she sees me, shocks me every time lol. 
PPD gets better eventually, hang in there. Look in to finding some support groups so you can find somebody to vent to that you know is there for you, it worked well for me.

Yup. This is why I try to embrace pregnancy. Because once that baby comes, mom is chopped liver! Ha ha
And I agree. Post partum depression and the baby blues can be very challenging. Bless you, mama. It does get better.

Yep. It's uncomfortable for people.. I always try to ask especially new moms now, but even veteran moms too. I'm pregnant with my 3rd & I want people to feel like people care. And maybe by asking other moms how they're doing, they'll do the same in return.

As a mom I always ask. But then a lot of those questions of how the baby is doing also directly effects how the mom is doing too. How your baby is sleeping or feeding (if breastfeeding) directly correlates with mom as well.

I always try to ask mommas how they are doing. I had my son alone and when he had colic I was losing my marbles! I remember the first time someone asked me how I was doing and I burst into tears 😂😂

Oh no....I’d honestly be sad if that was the case for me. Everyone always asked how I am doing even before asking about the baby.

The day after I gave birth I was in postpartum room and was literally told by my boyfriends Aunt that "It's not about you anymore, it's about the baby" as she patted me on the shoulder. NOT EVEN 24 HOURS AFTER I GAVE BIRTH. 😑

Honestly, I haven’t run into this. I feel so lucky to have so much supportive family. I am always asked about how I am doing postpartum, but I think a big part of asking about baby is that when the baby is hard or having a hard time, we usually are, too. 😩 When I tell people my baby is sleeping great, it’s awesome because it means I’m not completely sleep deprived.

My sister and I talked about this before I was a parent but she was. Now I had my first baby and she’s 100% right. My husband and I actually argued about this when my baby was first born bc it was like he forgot I was there and only cared about how baby. He actually ran me over with the stroller one day bc he was checking her temperature out on a walk and didn’t even notice.
