How would this make your feel?

Question

If someone who works at your child's day care said they sometimes pretend your child is theirs?
She said she has been TTC for a year and it's hard on her, so to get her through it she pretends my son is hers.
I had gone through infertility for 3 years while working in childcare myself, but I have never pretended that the kids are mine. I treated them as I would my own, but never acted like they were actually mine, which is what she is saying. 
I don't know. Maybe I'm thinking too much into this, but this is making me feel a little uncomfortable.

How would this make you feel though? What would you do? Ignore it? Confront her? Change day care?

I’ve seen too many lifetime movies,  so I would be changing daycares. No one is going to be stealing my babies

I’d be creeped and wouldn’t trust them to not kidnap. Like you said, treating as if they’re you’re own is one thing , but pretending like they are actually your own is different . Does she do it to other kids or just yours ? If it’s all of them I’d feel slightly less worried but still not comfortable, but if it was just mine she did this with I’d be very concerned

I mean it’s one thing to love a child like your own but what does she mean pretend he’s hers? Like make your kid call her mom& stuff? If so that would be weird but if not I wouldn’t think too much into it.. unless that type of thing is going on lol. But I’ve worked at a daycare and love them kids like they were my own so I can see why she would say it, maybe she just chose the wrong words to express what she meant..

I think it depends on how she said it, like the vibe. Because I often misstate what I mean so maybe it just came across wrong but she didn't mean it in a literal sense.

I worked in daycare for 14 years and that’s creepy as hell. I agree, treating them like they are yours is spot in, but playing “house” is not acceptable. I would maybe mention something to the director or ask her to be more specific.
