Glider or recliner?

My MIL is scaring me.. we ordered a top rated 2-in-1 glider/recliner from Wayfair for the nursery. All 5 star reviews. Shes telling me recliners are so dangerous and to not use it at all w a baby!  What do you have? And have you heard this??

It's all your preference.... whatever you got is fine. We have a rocker in the nursery and a recliner/lazy boy rocker in bedroom

I have one of each and perfer the recliner. The glider was nice at first but there wasnt much room in the one i have so once baby was about 8 months he was too tall for me to comfortably cradle and rock in it and we had to move to the recliner which was much more comfortable for both of us. Especially on nights when hes not feeling good and wants cuddles, I'll recline back and let him sprawl on me and hold him until he is sound asleep. My boyfriend has always perferred the recliner.

The only danger from my recliner is that sometimes it would "swallow" me making it difficult to get up while holding baby...but as it was really comfy I didnt mind staying put and making someone else fetch me things
