Can I eat California rolls while pregnant, is eating at a sushi restaurant putting me at a risk for bacterial contamination?

California rolls themselves are not raw, so theyre fine. I have been staying away from all sushi places because they make the cooked rolls on the same surface as the uncooked ones, so its just not a risk i want to take.

Sure can there’s no raw fish in them. If you’re concerned about contamination talk to the sushi chef and either explain your concern and ask to have the counter wiped down or plead an allergy or something. If the place is good, part of the pride in their sushi comes from the cleanliness of their workspace.
