What does a contraction feel like?

I’m FTM at 34 weeks. I haven’t had anything happen like contractions or Braxton Hicks or anything I do not think....
What does it feel like really?

My contractions felt like a wave of pain. You could feel when they are about to start and the pressure/tightening starts to increase around my stomach,back and pelvis/vagina area. And then they fade away. A lot of people say period cramps. But it doesnt feel like that to me. If anything I would compare it to a cramp you get( when you have to poop or have gas ) in like your lower stomach area. A twisting/tightening feeling. And increasingly painful.

Contractions feel like the opposite of an orgasm. It builds up to a climax and then fades away. Way more intense than period cramps.

Really really intense period cramps is the best way for me to describe. Your stomach gets super tight when contracting. Mine were so bad I could barely walk.

I’m a 2nd time mom, and still barely know what contractions feel like. With #1 my water broke very early so I was in the hospital for a few days, having contractions show up on monitor but not feeling them. I didn’t feel my contractions until 8cm, but by then it just felt like a bowling ball was going to fly out of my butt. 😂 I’m scared I’ll be home with contractions this time, and not know when it’s time for the hospital, lol.

Everyone always told me it would feel like a really bad period cramp but tbh my period cramps are way worse. Which is probably why I barely made it to the hospital with all mine they were all almost car babies I can just tell because my whole stomach will tighten so I guess they’re different for everyone.

The contractions I had with my daughter became like very intense pain waves in my belly and back. So intense that I couldn’t move during them at all. The Braxton Hicks I’ve been having with my son have been a tightening in my lower belly, nothing really painful just annoying more than anything.

For me, contractions felt like a combination of an extremely full bladder (like the kind that feels like your bladder is going to pop) but over your entire belly + the most severe period cramp on steroids.

Mine started out as light period cramps that got more intense. When the contractions were bad it was like an intense tightening feeling along with a lot of lower back pain. Hopefully this time I don't have back labor!
