How many of you have experienced bloody nipple discharge in your pregnancy?

Hey ladies! A good friend of mine is being referred to a specialist for having a little bloody discharge from her nipple. Just one, the larger one. Curious to see if this is semi-normal or not. 
No need to give any ‘RUN TO THE DOCTOR’ advice. She is sufficiently scared and going Monday.

I havent had it happen but I swear I remember reading somewhere at some point that it can happen and its nothing to worry about. It's just the breats getting ready for milk production and sometimes blood gets mixed in and comes out. I think I saw it happen with someone trying to pump before the baby got here.

The only time my nipples ever bled, out of 3 pregnancies and 3 years of breastfeeding, was when my second, a preemie, was tongue tied and had a bad latch.  That was the nipple itself, not the discharge.  I’d be very worried if I had bloody discharge.
