My cousin just had her baby shower and the RSVP number was on the invitations, with a little side not that said “Be SURE to RSVP!” And only about 10 people RSVP’d. Come the day of the shower and 40+ people showed up.

My baby shower is on the 23rd of this month and I sent out invitations in mid February and no one has RSVP’d. This makes it really difficult to figure out how much food to get.

Another friend of mine said for her son’s birthday only 4 people RSVP’d and like 20 people showed up.

Is this a thing, to just not RSVP anymore? I know with today’s technology people seem to forget about things like RSVP. But I think RSVP is important as it helps with planning but it seems like people don’t do it. Not sure how to plan my shower.

Do you think a person should RSVP, out of courtesy to the shower planner? Or do you think it’s not really a big deal? I’m curious.
