Day 2 of having a pixie cut again -meh

Well Ladies, I’m a firm believer in quality over quantity when it comes to hair (and other things). I have a habit of over processing my hair and it just becoming a dry, brittle mess and a pain in the butt to manage which I would pull into a slick bun everyday that would cause headaches.

At the start of this year I knew I wanted to go back to a pixie cut. I booked my appointment and searched for the perfect low maintenance pixie cut that would work for my hair texture (that’s a big deal and if it doesn’t work for my hair it means more work straightening and styling my hair). It took awhile but I eventually found a pixie cut that would work for me, but I wanted a slightly thicker bang which shouldn’t of been difficult. Well my stylist (whom I adore and is such a great person) only took a couple pieces from the cut and did her own thing. Normally, I would say no big deal, but I really liked the cut I found and know how much work the cut she gave is going to be 😒 so now I have to wait for the back of my hair to grow out before I can even attempt to get the cut I originally wanted.

Anyone know of a way to tame the bulk on the longer side? It’s super short and my flat iron doesn’t fit too well so close to the ear.

Cut that I wanted

After

The back of my hair is shaved really high and only one length with no blending when it gets to the top hair.

Update- Thank you ladies so much for all of the kind words. I was lucky enough to find a super tiny flat iron with a normal size handle which has made styling my hair so much easier. I also found someone that is going to blend my hair and even out the sides so no more bulky spots.

For those of you that would like a pixie cut but don’t think it would work for your face or that your face maybe too round. Please don’t think like that, there’s a pixie cut out there for every single face shape. I was told for years not to go too short and to keeping my hair shoulder length or longer because of my face and size, and the first time I decided to get a pixie cut, I was about 275lbs with a super round face and I loved it. I was bleach blonde with overly filled lips (whoops), but I loved the freedom of doing my hair in 3 minutes and actually looking like I was ready for the day.
