It’s time!
Ok ladies. I started having steady cramps last night, woke up with a headache that gradually got worse, to the point I could cry, and Tylenol is not helping. My headache eases then gets worse and so on. This is a sign of placenta abruption. I went and checked my blood pressure at Albertsons 153/90. My midwife sent me to the hospital to be induced, I’m headed there right now! My head is killing me but I’m excited for the baby to come! I’m so scared about being induced! Hopefully baby arrives today!!
UPDATE: Charlie was born at 10:47pm! I was given some pain meds (can’t remember the name, something that starts with ‘N’) and holy smokes did I get loopy and they definitely dulled the contractions! I stayed in the shower in the hospital for a good hour just sitting under the water.. I felt like I wanted an epidural even though it was against my birth plan, so my midwife checked my cervix and I was dilated to a 7 so we decided to just sway a little and let the baby drop into position. It took literally 5-7 minutes and he was born! If I got the epidural it would have been useless and I would have been in pain waiting to push. When it was time to push-boy did I push my heart out, it took 3 pushes! I didn’t even tear and I just can’t believe that! HOWEVER I pooped like crazy!! I was so worried about pooping and it happened. I was/am so so embarrassed by that fact but ya know what, I have my baby and I’d do it again exactly the same. This is my last baby and now I’ve experienced home birth and and induced hospital birth so I’m glad I am able to have both experiences. Charlie was born having some slight o2 issues due to the pain meds they gave me. He was born pretty purple because of how fast he came out as well, he’s still quite purple but his 02 is exactly where it should be!! What a long and tedious day but so worth it in the end!!o
