Unmedicated Induction Stories (No Pain Meds)?

Question

Obviously most inductions require medicine, but I want to hear stories from people who were induced but didn’t receive any pain medication. I’ll be 40 weeks tomorrow and want a natural birth, but just in case this little girl doesn’t wanna come out, I’d like to be prepared so that I don’t need pain meds if I happen to be induced. Comment below!

I was induced at 41w6d and I went completely natural. Started having mild contractions around 12pm at home. Went to the hospital but wasn’t progressing they gave me pitocin at 2pm. I walked the halls 8hours. Reached 10cm at 1030pm and Baby girl came at 1042pm.

I was induced as 40 weeks due to low fetal movements. I didn’t plan on a natural birth but as it was my fourth pregnancy I have memories of how painful it could be and all that was running through my mind was don’t touch the gas yet wait until it gets unbearable and I keep thinking its going to get worse.... well ended up having my son without the use of pain relief but due to afterpains being so severe I needed pethidine once he was born, ( fact the more children you have the more painful the afterpains. Im currently pregnant with child 5 and I am more worried about afterpains)

I was induced with my son. I was 36 weeks pregnant & my water had broken. I went to the hospital & after hours I was staying at a 3. They started pitocin & the rest (now 9 yrs ago) is kinda a blur but I was getting to the point where I couldn’t handle the pain but also felt the urge to push so when the nurse checked me I was a 10 & was ready to push! No pain meds at all! In total it was only 14 hours. Hope to have a med free labour again with this little one - 35 weeks tmro.

I wish I had a story for you. I was planning on doing a natural birth. But I was induced. And not progressing at all. And knew it was going to be a longggg time so I caved in and got an epidural. I heard contractions are more painful when you’re induced but I have nothing to compare it to. Good luck to you

With my 1st I was induced at 40+6. They started the Pitocin around 8 am & my baby girl was born at 11:12 am. So, only a little over 3 hours of active labor, which shocked me since that was my first birth. I was also induced with my 2nd, but that didn't go as quickly & I ended up getting an epidural & eventually a c-section because baby girl was stuck. I was hoping for another experience like my first one, but that didn't happen. Planning to try for a VBAC with baby boy this summer & would also like to go unmedicated, but I will keep an open mind.
