Do you research before you buy from sponsored ads?

Lately I’ve been seeing this “miracle straightener” on IG. Upon reading the comments multiple people have mentioned it being a “scam” from either receiving plastic toys, to really poor quality flat irons in a mini size. 
When I saw the comments I researched the product being used and it literally took me 5 minutes to find the original flat iron page/brand/ and stylist being used if the “fake” sponsored ads. 
To make this more controversial. Would you say Social platforms are responsible for screening sponsored ads? Especially when it’s false advertisement, and technically copy write since the “artist/stylist/creator” isn’t being credited?

I don’t think I’ve ever bought anything from a sponsored ad. It usually all looks like garbage. 
I do think there’s a responsibility to regulate, but I also don’t think admin are infallible. It’s got to be nearly impossible to guarantee that every product sold by every advertiser is legit. That’s where caveat emptor kicks in.

I assume all of those are scams lol. I never buy from those, but if I were to, I would research the company. I do think websites and apps need to do a lot better in scanning through the type of ad content they use. A lot of the time I find them problematic.

Definitely do your research. Especially when it regards products such as hair vitamins, collagen vitamins, weight loss products, teeth whiteners, etc,

I research before I buy anything besides like..groceries. Got to make sure it's the best brand, style/version, has a ton of good reviews, and is a good price

My husband constantly tries to buy shit off of Instagram 🙄 
I let him buy a captain America lamp and it was a huge rip off. Other than that, I've never bought anything off of Instagram because I feel like it's a good way to get shitty quality items for more money than they're worth, or have your credit card number stolen. If there's something I really want then I'll try to find the original merchant site, or even just find the product on Amazon and buy it from there. 
I think there should be a little more accountability in the sponsored ads, but I would say the responsibility is split evenly between the admins and the consumers purchasing the items. Anytime you purchase online you're running a risk, so it's your job to read reviews and of you've never heard of the seller look them up on the BBB or at least try to do some research. 
As soon as a seller is reported as a fraud they shouldn't be allowed to advertise anymore though.

I simply don't buy sponsored things. I haven't seen one sponsored ad with a thing that I absolutely want. I think its up to the person making the sponsored ad to give their honest impression. I watch a lot of YouTube so obviously I see a lot of sponsored videos and I see the tea when it comes to false advertising. It is also up to the platform sponsored ads are being put up on to remove any false advertisements. I'm so tired of seeing false advertisements for all these games. Its so bad on facebook and I wish Facebook would remove it.
