Chronic hypertension and preeclampsia

KT

Hi moms! I have had chronic hypertension for a few years (thanks genes) and it has been totally under control w meds prior to becoming pregnant. I’ve been on low dose BP meds throughout my pregnancy and my BP has been super good and consistent. I’m now 30 wks and I get the feeling my OB is expecting me to have preeclampsia. She says I need to watch for the signs (I am and take my BP regularly at home) but in our last appt Friday she seemed surprised my BP was so good (120/75) and although she is super nice and very calm about everything it seemed like she is fully expecting to induce me well before my due date. She doesn’t want me going past my DD which is totally fine but I’d like to GET to my DD if I’m am 100% healthy. She’s probably just being a good dr but it made me nervous.

What is everyone’s experience with having chronic hypertension and preeclampsia? FYI my mom had two completely healthy pregnancies, no history of preeclampsia or high risk/complications on either side of my family.

Edited to add: I haven’t had any preeclampsia signs, no protein in urine, no GD or sugar in urine, etc.
