College & FFSA issues

So I'm going back to college. According to FAFSA, My parents make too much and they only want to give me like half of the money I need for tuition. I live on my own and everyday but since I'm under 24, I'm a dependent. So my question is, are any of y'all married? Did it allow you to get more money back from FAFSA or not? Me and my fiance make less that $40k together so I would think I would get more back, especially since we're both going back to school.
