Can you conceive on your period?

This sounds like a really dumb question, but hear me out. I have PCOS and my period is out of control. I’ll bleed for 3 months or more in a row and then stop for a day or two and start up again for a long while over and over. Well it’s been gone since Saturday and I was wondering if since I bleed SO often and so long if I could conceive while I’m bleeding or if that’s impossible?

Your period creates an unwelcome environment for the sperm, and the ph level of your blood will most likely kill them.
However, sperm can live inside you for around 5 days, so if they were to survive, and you ovulate early, it could happen.
The chance of pregnancy during your period is extremely low, but not impossible!

Answer

It depends on whether you're still ovulating or not. Seeing as you have prolonged bleeding with short gaps, it sounds unlikely, but without testing for ovulation there's no way to know for sure. So yes there is a risk you could fall pregnant, though it's probably very very small.
