Disrespecting parents?

My parents say all this bullshit about being against me dating my boyfriend. Is it disrespectful to just ignore them and tell them I don’t care what they think.
My dad said, “if you marry him, I have no daughter”
My mom said, “I will never hold you hand during marriage”
I told them I don’t care what they think and I won’t beg them to accept it anymore.

I guess it depends on your relationship with them. I love and respect my parents and want them to not just be proud of me, but also my partner, so I totally value their opinion. When they had their doubts about my boyfriend, like ya I got annoyed, but I also took it seriously. And so did my boyfriend. And he made an effort to show them he was better than they thought he was and he stepped up. With that being said, I think it can also just take time. My parents went from questioning my relationship to now pushing marriage on us 4 years later, but like we’re not ready yet and they know that and respect that. How long have you been together?

Regardless if they’re your parents or not, it’s your life and you deserve happiness, it doesn’t matter what they think. They should be supportive of you and who you love

You can only try to please other people so much... I’d hate for my parents to hate my husband.. but they would have to have to reason to first... have they said why they don’t like him?

Depends on their reason of why they dislike him.  If they don't like him for a stupid reason, say like his race, they you have a right to disregard what they say.  If it's a more valid concern, such as how he treats you, I'd give more ear to what they have to say.  I've seen it happen far too many times where parents had a legitimate concern, their kid married that person anyway and now they're miserable.
