Doctors not taking it seriously
You all may have seen where I’ve posted about having pre eclampsia and my baby is growth restricted. I’m just needing to vent a little bit and ask if any of you had this happen.
I’ve been hospitalized twice in a week for having high blood pressure (166/100 was the highest it got and they witnessed this at the hospital). After a few days of monitoring me they realized that my baby is extremely grown restricted (in the 5th percentile) and seeing that my blood pressure is inconsistent they decided that I have pre eclampsia and that they want to treat me as an out patient until they induce me on March 31st.... except they aren’t doing anything to “treat” me. They didn’t give me blood pressure medicine, my blood pressure goes up pretty much whenever I’m sitting upright.. it regularly goes to 140/90 but the doctors told me they weren’t worried about those numbers. They said only to call if it gets to 150/100 🙄. I get light headaches when it gets high and last night I noticed some slight swelling in my hands. I called them and they STILL weren’t worried about it. The only treatment they’re doing is non stress tests on the baby... I’m starting to feel like this is too dangerous but when they hospitalize me they don’t do anything but put me on fluids and check my blood pressure every few hours.. I don’t know if I’m at risk for having a stroke at this point, I don’t know what should be done. Maybe I shouldn’t worry if the doctors aren’t worried. But it’s a scary thing when the blood pressure reads 137/93 all the time and I have all these symptoms and nothing is being done. How did your doctor treat your pre eclampsia? Is this the normal way?
