How long should you wait after a csection birth to try and get pregnant again?

Friends of mine who have C section were told that there should be an 18 month gap between births, so you could get pregnant when baby is approximately 8/9 months old and deliver when your previous child is 18 months old or older and be within the guidelines.

I accidentally got pregnant 3 months after a c-section. I don’t recommend it but I also didn’t have any issues other than a repeat c-section. 
They usually say to wait about a year.

It’s usually recommended to allow at least 1-1.5 years between births in the U.K. and at least 2 years in the US. Ask your doctor these medical questions though :) x

Well a c-section is STILL a major abdominal surgery.  Sex really should be about 6weeks, for concerns about hemorrhage, infection and sutures, never mind your comfort, yaknow?  And if you’re breastfeeding, it may often delay ovulation.  (Breastfeeding has the adjunct benefit/purpose to remind your body “hey, I JUST had a little one who needs my undivided attention and I need to heal!”- but it is certainly not a reliable form of bc)
Beginning the TTC process again can be one thing, but as we all know too well, that usually doesn’t mean one (cycle) and done lol
I would make sure your significant other is on the same page.  Do you have enough finances currently?  And college with back to back kids is a lotttt of money.  How about work and your career path/school?  Do you have family support?  Being sick as a dog your first trimester with an infant and then barely able to waddle and catch them before they fall into something pointy as they begin to walk and you’re in your 3rd trimester doesn’t sound all that fun to me haha 
But do you truly just want children very close in age to have playmates or is there age/health related issues you have concerns for?
My best friend is an “Irish twin” and she and her sister are suuuper tight- but I also know money was tight and her mom says the family was in the red for money and energy hahah
