How much tummy time should a 3 month old get?

I second doing some inclined-chest tummy time. My son doesn’t mind tummy time, but he seems to do more laying on either of our chests because he raises his head to look up at us

Start with a couple minutes a day. But honestly as much as she wants. If you have her on your chest and recline a bit, that counts too. So long as she is learning to help up her head in a safe manner

It's "supposed" to be 15 minutes, 3 times a day. My daughter absolutely hated tummy time, so it would only end up being once, sometimes twice a day for 10 minutes. We used a boppy pillow under her chest to support her and she did a lot better with that. If you don't have a boppy, you could put a small pillow or rolled up washcloths under her so she doesn't feel completely flat, and it might help. It is really important to get that tummy time. Even with the amount of tummy time I gave my daughter, she ended up with plagiocephaly. She's 9 months now and it's completely gone with help from physical therapy, but I just want to warn you about that!
