Only 3 weeks old in advertising company. I have creative ideas, layouts, copy ideas etc. How do i ask for more work?

I joined an advertising agency through a reference. I did 4-5 tasks in the last 3 weeks as they were given to me. I want to work more and not just while my time away at office. My husband says I shouldn't ask for work directly. Should I just butt in when a team is discussing something? How should I ask for more work?

I’ve worked in marketing / design for 15 years and manage a small team at a major tech company. It’s great when a newcomer demonstrates enthusiasm for the work, though without much experience or background in the area I wouldn’t recommend butting in (as you put it :)) during the project chats just yet. Take time to listen and learn, see how the team works - you’ll get a sense of how you can best contribute. You may even study up on the side about the nature of the tasks you hear colleagues discussing - there are tons of resources online. In the meantime, complete your assigned tasks with enthusiasm, can-do spirit and efficiency - your manager will see you completing tasks so well, they’ll be sure to assign you more exciting work as you grow. And it’s always good when you complete a task to ask what you can do next, managers live that! Good luck!
