Are Birth Control Pills Enough?

So I started on the pill almost a year ago and I’ve been sexually active for around 8 months. Condoms don’t really work for him and we’ve tried different brands. I’m always nervous about getting pregnant and I’m very strict on my taking my pills at the same time and never being late. I just want to know how other people handle their birth control. I’m on birth control and we don’t use anything else. If you take birth control correctly it’s 99% effective. The point of it is to prevent you from getting pregnant. There is always a risk though so you always have to remember that just like with any method.
