UPDATE: thanks for the responses everyone, really helps to hear from others. Doc says at this point I don't need surgery because it's only one cyst and she thinks I can handle it with diet and possibly metformin if I choose to. I'm extremely relieved that diet can help so much, I'll have to struggle through the pain during my first yoga training intensive but hopefully but the next one in a few months I'll have less pain. I have a large cyst on my ovary, this sucks...I've never had anything like this before and honestly I'm pretty scared. I've never had surgery either and I'm afraid I'm going to have to now...How bad is it? How long does it take to heal? I'm about to start my yoga teacher training course and i dropped like $3000 on it and it can't be rescheduled...I just can't stop the tears from welling up, I'm finally making a big move forward career wise and this happens. I'm usually unsure about the future but this it just next level...
