If we successfully created time travel, is it a good or bad idea?

I’m really referring to the butterfly effect, if we travelled back in time, one minute change could have a dramatic change in the course of history forever.  Possibly for the better, or worse.

Everything happens for a reason to go back in time would be a mistake as there are people who wouldn't be here if history was changed

But how would we know? Maybe someone already has time travelled and we're living in the alternate timeline.

If every was time traveling all the time, so many things would constantly be changing that there would be no “present” to live in.

Nope. We only learn from past mistakes and nobody would give a damn in the world if we could fuck up and then go back and try to fix it.

Travel too far back in time you risk infecting the entire population with a disease they can’t fight off. Travel too far ahead in the future and you risk getting a disease you can’t fight off and/or taking it back to your time period and infecting everyone there. 
It’s really not feasible.

People are already power and money hungry as is, I don’t even want to imagine what someone would do if it were in the wrong hands.

One small change could change too much. It'd be a butterfly effect. So yeah, I'd say it's bad.

Probably terrible because there'd be constant interferences in the time space Continuum.. which would create holes in the time line where entire generations wouldn't exist... Plus... One person changing one thing seems fairly dangerous to the entire worlds current existence. If you want to change things in your current life the best thing you can do is make daily changes within yourself and encourage other around you to change the things they do for a better future.

Not only could it change history, but if you went back or forward even just a few years, life would suck. Language evolves so fast that depending on how far you went, you might not even be able to understand anyone. Even if you just went back to, say, the 50s, society would be basically unrecognizable to us-things like being horribly racist in public were more socially acceptable, for example.
