Is anyone else having period pain?

37+2 and ever since yesterday or maybe even the day before, I’ve been having pain down in my uterus that feels like a mean Aunt Flo is on her way. Last night I was in so much pain in my lower abdomen and lower back that it woke me up out of a dead sleep. My water hasn’t broke and they aren’t acting like contractions and getting closer or have a pattern or anything. It’s just an ache that won’t stop. FTM so I’m sorry if I sound stupid.

Yup, I’m always curious what lower abdomen means, mine are more on my pubic bone, like right under the bump. But ya, I get them inconsistently right now. I’m hoping they escalate lol just over it. I was told it’s just the body prepping

U don’t sound stupid. I’m having period like pain too. Dr said it’s normal, just ur body getting ready. I haven’t had em wake me out of sleep tho.

Yep! Def signs of prelabor. I had two nights where I woke up to this same pain and a ton of discharge. When baby starts to drop it puts pressure on our cervix, it starts to thin & dilate. This cramping is most likely associated with the pressure and cervical changes. If they become really bad to the point you can’t talk thru it call your OB or you notice you’re getting contractions with this pain consistently, time to start timing. That signals labor contractions!

Yes and my dr had me come into L&D for monitoring since I was only 34 weeks when they started. They told me it was prelabor. Luckily we got it to subside on its own with very few real contractions. It’s been better since last weekend but I still get crampy here and there. Make sure you are extra hydrated, it will help!

I started having this around 37 weeks, went to the Dr this week (38 weeks) and I had went from being 0% effaced to 70% since my last appointment. She told me that it’s just the changes going on down there!
