Breastfeeding? Cycle? Confused.

So I’m 7.5 months post partum and still breastfeeding. I know even though my monthly hasn’t returned I’m more than likely ovulating this far pp, but my question is how can I tell when???? I’ve tried monitoring cervical mucus, but I’m really clueless of which means which, and google has given me conflicting information. We’re not planning another baby right now, but I’m not on birth control because of personal reasons and adverse affects. Any and all advice is welcomed!
