TTC with Metformin?

Question

Has anyone taken metformin while TTC?
My primary care doctor said it isnt pregnancy safe, and I have an appointment with an endocrinologist next Monday to start taking it to treat mild insulin resistance/elevated A1C.
Anyways, should I just not bother taking it, or has anyone taken it while TTC?

My reproductive endocrinologist prescribes it for people with pcos who are trying to conceive.

I took it with clomid and got pregnant with my daughter. Now taking it with letrezole to try for baby number 2

I took metformin during my whole pregnancy due to gd. It’s safe during pregnancy

I’ve been taking it throughout my infertility treatment. It’s my understanding that, if I would conceive, I’d take it through the first trimester.

Look into Myo-Inositol.
Recent studies have shown that taking 4000mg of Myo per day is more effective for ovarian health and stimulating ovulation than taking 1500mg of Metformin. This is what my midwife recommended I do, along with taking Vitex for my PCOS. It has helped my cycles immensely while TTC.
