When I marry my fiancé should I give my daughter his last name or just keep it mine? Because my fiancé wants to adopt her once we’re married. What should I do???

If he wants to adopt her, I'd say go for the whole name change. Maybe even incorporate the adoption signing into the wedding. It would be a day of creating a family, and I think that would be beautiful. I think it makes sense for everyone to have the same last name.

I never liked that my mom’s last was never the same as mine growing up (my parents got divorced and she changed her name back). If it were me, I’d use whatever name you plan on using for yourself as long as her dad is ok with it or hyphenate.

How old is your daughter? If she’s young enough that she doesn’t really know her full name yet I would change it, assuming you’re also changing yours, so that the whole family has the same name. If you aren’t changing your name then I probably wouldn’t change hers either. Also if she already knows her current last name I wouldn’t change it because that could be confusing for a young kid.

Depends on what the last name means to you. When she gets older and finds her husban her last name will cange again. If he plans on adopting her he' ll be her dad so why not?
