What do you see it as?

You go to the dollar store, and you have a basket full of goodies for your two children.

One of them mentions that they wanted something else, and you tell them “We have enough goodies in the cart”

An older woman came over and gave both of your children $5 to spend on whatever they want.

Would you find this a kind gesture from an old woman who probably just assumed you said no because you didn’t have anymore money? or would you find this an insult?

(Not exactly a controversy but unsure where to ask this question)
