TMI Monistat 1 help?

I have a yeast infection and I was trying to go ahead and put The insert in but its just too big. It said to put as far as I can and I did but that wasnt far enough and so it got suck very uncomfortably (tmi?) Just above the opening of my vagina.

It took me 15 minutes and a full mental breakdown to get it out because it was way too big and I couldnt just pull it out like a tampon.

Can I just pop the pill open and spread the medicine in there myself?

Should I be trying to put it back in or should I ask my mom to get me something else?

Are there any... Less painful methods to getting rid of this?

My period is on the 30th, should I just wait it out until then? I keep reading that'll flush it out.
