Should Gypsy Rose be in Prison?

If you don’t know about the case Gypsy Rose, it is too long for me to sum up, but please look it up, long story short, her mom pretended she was sick to get money, then Gypsy hired her boyfriend to kill her mom.

She lived in a prison and personal hell her entire life, she’s served her time. She needs rehabilitation and help for the trauma she’s gone through. In my eyes, she saved herself.

Unfortunately I think she should be in a mental institution. And I say, “unfortunately”, because her Mom made her think differently and act differently than a usual person in a usual circumstance would.

She needs therapy. I'm usually the first to say they probably need time. However I look at it like this..
1. It was a fact she had an education as a second grader.
2. her mother abused her in the worst way possible. She was basically killing her. 
3. She had multiple surgeries for no reason she couldnt even sue the doctors for it because she didnt know how old she was 
4. Her mother lied about her age even if she tried to get help they would of just thought she was sick and underage.
5. Kids dont really get justice these days anymore people kill kids and babies and get a slap on the hand because it was their "kid". 
6. She tried running away but her mom got her.
7. She was on many many medications.
8. So many signs and all the adults failed her.
9. She knows nothing about the real world her mom was on Americas most wanted. For stealing checks and all kinds of stuff that's all she knew.
10. She never got a chance to be a real person freedom away from her mom and throwing her in prison will make things wprst for her.
I have seen an interview where she said she had more freedom in prison then she did living with her mom. That is so sad to me regardless if she planned a murder she was being abused and for so many reasons it should have been self defense. She needs therapy and schooling and someone to teach her how to live pay Bill's work a job without stealing from people.

She should be in Jail for a bit but then later should be sent into a mental institution. No matter what, she did aid in the killing of her mother. There are people who felt like the only possible way for them to live is to kill someone. Even so, they’re in jail or got the death sentence. I also think it should be the same for the boyfriend. He killed, but he should also be in Jail and should have to talk with a mental support person. They both at this point, have lots of mental illnesses

I completely sympathize with her and her situation. I can’t imagine what that must have been like. I do think she experienced an unfathomable amount of trauma and was on a lot of medication that can have cognitive side effects.
That being said, from a legal standpoint, I do think her sentencing was fair. Premeditated murder usually comes with a death sentence or life in prison. Her boyfriend got life in prison. It wasn’t like her mom was abusing her and she just snapped in the moment. It was planned over a period of time and executed. She was in the bathroom when her mother was being murdered, she could have tried to stop it or called 911 and turned herself and her boyfriend in, but she didn’t. So I do think 10 years is appropriate sentencing. But I’m happy to hear she’s thriving in prison and I hope she continues to do well afterwards.
