Low lying placenta. SEX BAN. Question?

Embarrassing question 
I haven’t been very well informed. I was told at 20 weeks my placenta was low lying and I would be scanned again at 32 weeks. I was not told not to have sex but had read online so me and my husband were a bit hesitant but tried once and everything seemed fine. I then went to see a doctor at 25 weeks who said absolutely no intercourse and no more was said. Have now been reading that includes orgasms. I thought was just penetration I didn’t realise orgasms were also so dangerous. What is everyone else with low lying/ placenta previa doing?

Just say no! Lol you’ve only got 15 more weeks and for the health and safety of your baby, better to just abstain!

I was told mine was low lying at 23 weeks and I have another scan at 29 weeks. My doctor said ‘be careful when having sex’? Whatever that means. She asked if I had seen any bleeding and I haven’t had any so she didn’t seem overly concerned.  So I haven’t changed anything. Still working out as well.  Hoping it moves up!

The uterus contracts when you have an orgasm which can cause it to pinch the placenta. Don’t do it.

It means nothing unfortunately. Because of its position and the fact that an orgasm causes contraction of the uterus it's dangerous to do with it so low lying. You're also more susceptible to tearing or separation which could happen from those contractions. It sucks but its what's best for baby.
