Maternity leave issues
So my job you get 16 weeks maternity leave 10 bring FMLA and 4 weeks for new moms and 2 weeks if you use your vacation time. My manager who has 5 kids got all of her time during the holidays last year ( she’s full time I’m only part time.) which is great! I’m expecting my first baby and due in July and was expecting to take the full 16 weeks but was told my leave would be an “inconvenience” where my manager is fighting for me to not take the full leave, ( the extra 6 weeks is by manager approval only.) I don’t think it’s fair and it wouldn’t be the first time I’ve called HR on them for certain things that they do. I feel discriminated and they give me no real reason as to why they don’t want me to take my full leave. What should I do?
