Anyone else HATE being touched when they’re upset?

Question

My husband and I got into a small argument today and pregnant me started crying. I was more angry than anything. But my father in law walked up to me and grabbed my arm trying to “hold me” while I was crying. I told him politely I didn’t like being touched or hugged while I’m upset and I think I offended him... 
My own husband knows to give me space, and I don’t even let my own father hug me while I’m crying. Do I owe him an apology?? I was really trying to be as nice as possible, but now it’s extremely awkward.

Yes when I’m upset or in pain. When I was in labour I didn’t want hubby to touch me at all or hold my hand or anything. Just explain that it doesn’t mean you love him less it just means you don’t want to be touched at that moment

100%! If I'm upset or sick, leave me the f alone, unless I ask to he held/rubbed/whatever. 
I felt so bad one day when I was puking and my boyfriend tried to be sweet and rub my back and I snapped and yelled at him to not touch me. I apologized right after I was done, but still felt bad!

I get like that too, it’s completely normal. You don’t owe him an apology for your natural reactions and how you’re feeling, but if you’re feeling like things are a bit awkward now it’s probably best to bring it up. Just reassure him that it’s nothing personal and I’m sure he’ll understand!
