Titer Test

Annee

My twin brother that works for the government as an epidemiologist in maternal/fetal development wants all you mothers’ to be to make sure your partners or any other family you live with go to your general practitioner and request a titer test. A titer test is a blood test that checks for the presence of certain antibodies in the blood stream for vaccinations you would have gotten throughout your life. That way everyone who comes in contact with the baby is caught up on their vaccinations. Moms to be have to wait till after your baby is born, (I personally have two vaccines to get after my daughter arrives). The best way your can protect your baby is through herd immunity till they are old enough to be vaccinated themselves.

This is something I wish I knew about before I got pregnant or I would have done it earlier. It’s great advice for women who are TTC.

If you are not vaccinated or plan on not vaccinating, you are more than welcome to dispute proven science, but I personally have a 0% tolerance with arguing with strangers on the internet. However, I will say this: Herd immunity is important because it protects the most vulnerable members of our communities, including infants, pregnant women (ME! Right now!), the elderly and other who are unable to receive vaccinations.

Enjoy this free advice from my twin brother who was exposed to chicken pox at the Department of Health today while just doing his job.
