My first has complications so I’m glad I didn’t do a birth center like I had planned. Doing hospital again this time, love my OB

In the area I live (which has thousands of people) only 1 person a month gets a midwife and they dont have the option of birthing at home - birthing centre or hospital only. I wish I was that one person but I didnt call soon enough

I had my daughter at home and plan to do it again as long as the pregnancy is not complicated. It was amazing. I’d honestly recommend it to anyone who’s going through an uncomplicated pregnancy (most people 😊). It was a little weird to be totally alone with the baby that night (since you have nurses and stuff around you all night in the hospital)  do what you need to do and “parent-mode” gets activated pretty fast!

My first was born at a freestanding birth center (it was like a homebirth at someone else’s, nicer, house lol) & we talked about a home birth this go around. But I think we’ll probably do the birth center again. It was amazing.
