What are the looking at with first prenatal bloodwork?

I know they look at blood type, HCG, CBC, iron... what else? I’m 8 weeks 5 days. Just trying to estimate how many vials and what they’re for!

Prenatal labs vary from clinic to clinic but where I’m at, we do a CBC to check for anemia, ABO&RH, HIV, Hepatitis, Rubella( to check immunity. If negative then you’ll need a vaccine), RPR(Syphilis), Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, and Urine Culture.  3-4 tubes of blood depending on the policy of where you have your labs drawn.

Mine was 6 vials (2 larger and 4 smaller), which was rough because I absolutely hate having blood drawn. They tested for things like blood type, HIV, and whether you have immunity to a bunch of diseases.

I just had mine taken and it was quite a few vials, at least 4 maybe more?  Blood type, Rh factor, CBC, any STIs, then check for antibodies against like German measles and such.

Mine was 5 vials. There were 9 codes on the paper but I don’t remember what they all were unfortunately. Remember seeing hepatitis, HIV, and rubella vaccine status. 🤷🏼‍♀️
