What to do with dog during labor?

My boyfriend and I live out of state away from all of our family and friends.  We have a place that we board our dog when we go out of town but it’s like 30 mins to an hour away depending on traffic and usually they need an ahead of time reservation. Worried about what to do with the dog while we are at the hospital as you could end up there for a few days/don’t want my boyfriend leaving me during labor (what if it takes over 24 hours?)

You can find help using the Rover app. I use it for dog waking but you can also hire someone to check in on them, feed them, etc as well

Mine will be going outside and my brother in-law will be coming over to feed him and make sure his water bucket is full. Before anyone jumps on me about it, he has a large doghouse with a comfy bed and it’s during the time of year where he literally spend all day and most of the night outside anyways.

Download and sign up for wag ! It’s a dog walking service they can do same day walks if u need one so that helps with last second going into labor needs . The person who will be in charge of your dog will do a meet and greet before you take on the service to make sure they understand ur dog on walks (Do they have leash aggression if they see another dog or squirrel, do they typically do #2 every walk, etc) I’m sure if you like the person enough you can explain that your using this for when the baby comes and the person can probably come by and feed the dog too!!! Hey who knows if you like it enough keep them for the first month after baby is born so the dog doesn’t get pushed to the side for walks love and attention so you can still focus on baby 👍🏼 hope this helps !!

I work at at vet so we plan to just drop my dog off there. I would talk to your boarding facility and see if they could help you out. Some places will make arrangements with well established clients. I know my work has.

Do you have a neighbor or coworker that could be on call just to let puppy out a couple times until you are able to get dog to the sitter?
