Glass vs plastic bottles?

Question

I’m looking at changing up my registry...I’m currently registered for the Comotomo bottles but I was also looking at the Philips Avent Natural bottles, which come in glass and plastic. Obviously glass are more expensive and can break, but I guess tend to have a nicer feel? Anyone have any feedback or insight? Clearly a FTM and my knowledge of bottles dates back to when I was a kid and bottles had those plastic sacks in them 🤷🏻‍♀️

I am a FTM but I have babysat a LOT of babies as well as worked in an infant room for a year. I don’t think having a glass bottle for a baby is ideal. Especially when they hit the phase of throwing. Or in the phase of kind of holding their own bottles and they can just drop them on their face at any second. Glass just seems pretty unsafe for an infant and if you for some reason walked away they dropped it and they cut themselves. Idk maybe I’m being over crazy about it but plastic work fine. I don’t see a difference other than glass breaking.

We did Comotomo and my son did great with them!! Highly recommend, especially if you want to go back and forth between breast and bottle. 😊 I have recommended them to friends for that very reason and they have also had great success!

I used glass. Easier to sanitize. Used it for 2 yrs with my first never broke one. Now a days they make rubber slips/protectors for them.

I vote glass. We used Evenflo proflow bottles. Ours have never broken, are easier to clean, and are less chemical-laden. But honestly my suggestion is not to stress. You get what you get, it will be fine. Also, my baby didn't take to the bottles I registered for, we had to try a few brands/nipple styles. So baby ultimately decides 😆

We used the Avent glass natural bottles for our older two. SO broke one or two but it was from rough handling. Kids never never did any damage to them even after dropping them and tossing them around. They are quite sturdy and are supposed to be a healthier choice when you need to heat up/warm up.

Glass is easier to sanitize but holds temperatures longer so that means a heated bottle will take longer to cool but also stay warm longer. There is the breaking hazard to think about and they are heavier so babies can’t hold them as early/ as well.

We use Nuk glass bottle, only have one, we’ve had it for a year. It’s literally indestructible. It fell out of our truck onto the pavement and didn’t leave a single mark. 
We made the switch to glass because our plastic ones kept deteriorating when heated in the bottle warmer (breast fed baby from a bottle, pump.) 
The glass bottle will last forever it seems.
