Question about Gripe Water

I purchased Little Remedies Gripe Water b/c our LO is having issues with gas, hiccups. My husband refuses to let me give it to him b/c on the back of the product package it says to consult your physician before giving it to your baby. I have read the reviews and it seems to be a good product that works and would help our baby. Has anyone had a bad experience(s) with said product?? Our baby is almost 3 weeks old now!
