Baby shower for baby #2 Yes or No?

Question

I love throwing parties, I think it’s fun to plan and get everyone together so it’s really not for the gifts as much as I feel like I did it big for my first baby so why wouldn’t I for my second or third and especially if it’s a different sex than my first but I’m hearing more and more that most people only ever have one baby shower so just curious if I’m being too extra by maybe wanting another baby shower for my baby #2. Thoughts?!

I was under the impression that Everyone had a baby shower every pregnancy. To me it’s not about getting stuff it’s about celebrating your pregnancy and the new baby with everyone and people give you gifts as a thank you for spending money on throwing a baby shower where they get free prizes and free food and games and so on . Of course people don’t have to give a gift but most people love shopping for babies anyways so.

I believe it’s super tacky to have a second shower. 
But I totally understand that party planning can be a lot of fun. 
Maybe have a party, but don’t call it a shower? We are thinking of having a backyard bon fire party with friends a month before the baby comes just so we can see everyone before the craziness starts. And I want to plan a party 🤗

Babies showers aren’t popular where I’m from so my opinion is a bit of a outsider opinion.
But from what I see, I think having a second baby shower tends to be looked down upon because it’s thought of as greedy to ask for new baby things again.
So I think it should be fine to have a party celebrating the baby but instead of gifts maybe ask everybody to bring a plate of food instead.
So it’s more about having fun and celebrating baby instead of free stuff from friends and family.
But like I said

I’ve been told by many that after your first baby it’s no longer considered a baby shower. It’s now a baby sprinkle 😊

My MIL wants to throw us a shower, but I felt uncomfortable having a second one since we don't want or need anything. We're not asking for gifts, just to share in the joy of a new baby coming.

I don’t thinks it’s a big deal especially if your baby is the opposite sex. Do what u feel I wouldn’t listen to what everybody else’s opinion because it’s something you want to do 🤷🏽‍♀️
