How long after giving birth did you take a bath?

The nurse said I could whenever but she didn’t seem very confident lol. I see my doctor in about a week so I’ll ask them. I’m almost 2 weeks pp. just wondering when everyone else did.

I didn’t until after I got cleared at my 6 week appointment :) but I don’t really know what they recommend

I had a bath in the hospital and then every day that I could for the first couple of weeks while I was healing, it’s what the docs and midwives recommended. I didn’t use soap though, just a few drops of tea tree oil and a few drops of lavender oil (also what they recommended). Then I’d just drain the bath and stand up to wash myself and shower off.

It was within a few days after both of my births. I was told that baths are fine as long as you don't use any kind of soap or shampoo in the water.

I took epsom salt baths 2-3x a week for a few weeks. They’re helpful in healing if you have tearing

I took a bath at 4 days pp when I got home from the hospital. My doctor and the nurses told me that a bath was fine whenever I felt ready for it, just so long as I didnt use any soaps/bath bombs/oils/bath salts or anything like that because the scents and everything else can cause infections, so when I wanted to use soap or shampoo and conditioner or any of that, I needed to switch to a shower.

Like 3 days after I took a nice hot bath. The midwife gave me a sachet of PP bathing herbs-like comfrey, lavender, etc. it was very healing for the Netherlands!

A few days PP with the postnatal herbal bath tea given to me by my midwife. It felt so good on my body. But defiantly if you aren’t completely comfy with it, I would wait a little bit!
