mom won’t allow me to go to college?

i’ve been asking my mother for my social security number and she tells me i cannot get that. and when i ask to look for where it is and she said i’m not allowed to know that and i told her it’s for college and she still said no and then after, she started leaving me on read.

Apply for a new one or get a replacement one, idk how it works but look it up maybe someone can help you.. do you have any other family you can ask?

Are you 18 or older? She can’t keep your social security card or number from you regardless. Do you have another guardian in the house  you can ask?

You need your social security number/card to do all sorts of things such as getting a job, license, filing taxes, etc. Why won’t she give it to you? Have you asked her? Were you adopted and she never told you?

Okay I don’t mean to freak you out but a lot of baby snatching cases are found out this way, because they can’t provide a social security number, it wouldn’t hurt to check with your high school to see if they have yours on file bc you can easily access that information. Maybe even your primary care doctors office could have it just call and confirm your date of birth. 💗
