natural birth stories?

i have an extremely sensitive back so im going to deliver naturally without an epidural. i see women post pictures of their births and the babies coming out and i always think about how sex hurts sometimes how could i handle that!! and would love to hear what natural birth feels like and how y’all did it! thanks

I had my daughter with no meds. I thought I had a low pain tolerance. My labor was 14 hrs total. I slept through the first 7 hrs. Labored mostly around my house in the bath, on my yoga ball, swaying with my partner, massages, went to the hospital when contractions were 3 min apart at noon and had my daughter at 3. Contractions were not that painful for me. I breathed and ooooohed through them. They got very intense in the last cpl hrs, I had a really hard time not pushing too soon. I needed a focal point and fast breathing to stop my body from pushing. The part that hurt the most for me was the final pushes ( ring of fire) Pushed for maybe 20 min- about 6 pushes. I also birthed on my side, my left hip was hurting pretty bad and laying on my back made me dizzy and funny feeling. Remember that women have been doing this for ages. I did not have any medication with my son. It was hard and it hurt a lot but it wasn’t unbearable. It felt like the worst period cramps you’ve ever had, coming in waves every minute or so, and lasting about a minute in length. The contractions were the worst part. Once I got to pushing, I was so focused on that I didn’t even register pain. It took two separate contractions to push him out so the time in between was also very painful. But honestly I survived and you will too.

IMO contractions (during Transition specifically) are much more painful than pushing and I pushed for three hours.  The only time my vaginal area hurt was when baby was crowning and, of course, postpartum.  I'm 32 weeks with #2 and plan on going unmediated again.

Not going to lie it hurt. But it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. I am a giant baby about pain too, got stung by a bee once and freaked out crying and such, so I really thought I would have had such a hard time with a natural birth, but honestly I didn’t. 
I chose not to do an epidural as for me the needle scared me more than having my child without an epidural. 
For me anyway once I got into the transition period which you feel like the world is ending and you are totally regretting not getting that epidural. Once I got to that point it’s almost the end, I just kept thinking about meeting my sweet girl soon and that got me through it. For me it took about 6 pushes and she was out. 
I personally liked going at it natural because I could feel everything and it didn’t slow down anything for me and I knew exactly when to push.  I also liked the recovery part afterwards I was up and waking within a half an hour or so. 
My advice is trust your body you know your body best and for me I knew it would be hard but I knew I could do it. There is no shame in needing an epidural or going at it natural. Everyone is different and handles pain differently.
