My mum was racially attacked by her best friend's next door neighbour and the police said they cant do anything about it because it's not recorded and "it's a case of hearsay" even though the people that witnessed it (though kids) could testify to it!

Backstory:

My mum parked her car (an SUV) in front of her friend's house and the back of the car, the boot, was at the front of her friends next door neighbours gate.

Instead of asking my mum to move her car, she took a bin and smashed her back lights in. Then shouted racial slurs at my mum calling her a literal piece of shit skin and a nigger, she then pushed my mum n then went in.

Police was called and are saying they cant do anything as it's a case of hearsay even with all the evidence

The woman claims my mum drove into her bin .. which makes no sense as there were witnesses.

UK police just do nothing.

How then can we trust them?
