Question

Did anyone else have steroid shots for baby’s lungs then get induced early? I know 37 weeks isn’t THAT early but I’m wondering how much NICU time she’ll have or if any at all, just need some other stories to calm me down and make me feel better about my doctors decision on inducing at 37 and 1.

My son came 37 weeks exactly got a steroid shot at 28 weeks absolutely no NICU time.. currently pregnant and she’s probably going to do the same thing..

My baby was induced and born 37+1 at 5lb6oz and we went home 2 days later (just to be sure she wasn’t jaundice). No nicu time ☺️

I had my first son at 37 weeks and no steroid shots also no nicu time and he was 6.1lbs. My second son was born at 35 weeks and no steroid shots, he spent time in the nicu, but he had to have surgery on his stomach. He was born at 5.2lbs and I bet if he didn’t need surgery he wouldn’t have had to stay in the nicu long so don’t stress your baby will be fine and I don’t think you will need a nicu stay, but they may keep baby in the nicu for the first 24 hours to make sure he/she can regulate temp etc if they’re concerned!

I doubt you’ll need steroid shots. I had my daughter at 37 weeks exactly . I wasn’t induced , I went into labor naturally but she was born perfectly healthy at 6 pounds 8 ounces and 18 1/2 inches. She needed no NICU time and most babies born at that gestational age don’t.

I was induced at 36+2 for pre eclampsia, no steroid shots necessary! My son was 4 lb 14 oz small but no nicu time necessary. We stayed for 3 nights in the hospital but that was for my c section recovery 😊

I had gestational diabetes with my last pregnancy and started going into labor early. I had an amniocentesis done at almost 37 weeks and his lungs were not ready. I had 2 steroid shots and then I had a c-section at 38 weeks and he was a healthy 9lbs 14oz.

My daughter was born 37 weeks she weighed 6lbs 6oz and no NICU very healthy babies no steroid shots or anything both came naturally my water broke for both at home

I would ask your doctor, they will know way more than any of us. It’s different for everyone. Some babies only need 1-2 weeks and some don’t need any. It really just depends on your baby once it’s born.
