Birth story
Just want to share my birth story with you ladies. My husband and i were planning on a home water birth but god had other plans apparently. I was having contractions at home for 4 days straight and they were 10 to 15 mins apart. I couldn’t really sleep those days because of the contractions coming and going. My midwife tried giving me herbs and we tried different exercises to get baby engaged and ready to go but it just became unbearable. I was a zombie for those 4 days and not to mention the pain...on the 4th day I got fed up of the pain and I told my husband to take me to the emergency room. I was scared they weren’t going to admit me because I had called the night before and they told me that contractions had to be 5 mins apart and that they couldn’t admit me. When I went in they were 7 mins apart. The OB i had seen before I had the midwife was on vacation that week which made things more stressful. Thank god they didn’t turn me away after I told them I was 41 weeks and had been laboring for 4 days. I was disappointed I couldn’t go the natural way any longer but proud that at least I gave it a try. I ended up getting the things that I wanted to avoid (petocin and epidural). Epidural was such a relief! But when it got closer to the time to push I could feel the contractions. I was told it was good I could feel them so that I knew when to push. My beautiful baby girl was born vaginally. I still can’t believe how my birth plan just went out the window and how I ended up at hospital. The hospital staff was very nice to me and I would probably do a hospital birth for the 2nd baby.
