Pumping to induce Labour?

Question

I heard using a breast pump can bring on contractions. (I’m 38 weeks) I tried pumping ten minutes on each side and was surprised to get some colostrum in my bottle , more then I thought I would get ! BUT no contractions that’s for sure. I just kind of got a headache 😂 nothing I’m trying works. So ready for my baby boy to arrive.

I wouldn't pump to try to bring on labor. Your body hasn't produced the signal yet to produce milk (happens after delivery) so you could do damage. Try just nipple stimulation instead. But I would wait until closer to due date.

Don't pump yet!! That is vital for baby to get the first day, the more you pump prebaby the more you'll loose!

Get one of those big yoga balls and bounce and roll your hips. Eat some spicy stuff and go for a good walk:)

All pumping is really going to do is give you sore nipples before you have to learn to breastfeed 😫 nipple stimulation was actually studied and found to be effective in helping to dilate during labor but not necessarily before.
