My little sister hit this girl’s car when parking. They decided to handle it outside of insurance and the girl is saying the estimate she got to fix it was 500-600?

Whether she told you the actual estimate or not there's not much your sister can do about it since she's at fault and the lady was nice enough to not report it to insurance

We own a used car dealership, so we get a lot of body work done... and for a normal person at a normal body shop, that sounds reasonable/within normal range. You’re painting 2 body panels there and any time you do anything on a black car, it can cost more to match, etc.

I paid around $500 to fix a scratch that was much smaller than this , so yes I would say that is an accurate estimate if not more ! You can’t really question her at this point , honestly if I was her I wouldn’t have done it this way that’s LITERALLY WHAT YOU PAY YOUR INSURANCE FOR ? lmao but whatever to each their own . Like do you realize how nice she is ? She would have probably gotten everything repaired for free from her insurance but instead did it this way lol

I’m surprised it’s not more than that. Should’ve gone through insurance but since you didn’t... have her get three different estimates. Body shop prices vary greatly.

Just tell her to send a copy of the estimate if you believe it isn’t correct. They should’ve offered a print out stating the exact services that would’ve done. But tbh I had less damage than that on my car before & the total came out to $900 so it seems right.

Where are y’all located. I’m in the car business. From the pictures it looks like just a paint job needs to be done and it being black it shouldn’t cost more then 300$. Did she give you the quote she received ? You need to look and see if there is an econo Auto paint or macco collision auto & repair. 
Econo is way cheaper and do decent work 
Macco does really good work and cost a little more but cheaper then most places.
