What if their parent IS bad?

My dad was a horrible person who sexually abused my older sisters and tried to sexually abuse me. He also beat my mother half to death and stole her things and came back and attempted to kill her.

All my life everyone told me he was bad guy and such and just anytime he was brought up it was with disgust. Especially when I cut my hair at 8 and was told “you look like your dad.” By my aunt in a disgusted tone.

You’re not supposed to tell kids that one of their parents is bad because they are half of that bad parent and the kid will think half of them is bad and it’s true because that’s how I saw myself. I still hate that I’m half of him, it disgusts me.

So what ARE you supposed to say about your child’s dad if they ARE bad? If their dad is as bad as mine what were they supposed to tell me?

I don’t think I’m bad because he’s my dad. No I am nothing like him but the fact that I share blood and DNA with that piece of shit is disgusting to me.
