Why would my doctor want to do Stress test and ultrasounds weekly? I’m 34 weeks today and have GD but he said my sugars are fine. What could he be checking for? I go to the doctor Monday

It is to check the fluid levels, small movements such as hands and toes, large movements such as legs and arms, and practice breaths. The concern with GD is that it has high still birth rates, that you have higher blood pressure that effects the amount of fluid, and baby's tend to be heavier. It is really common to have these checks and normally everything is ok but it is better to be careful and to monitor more frequently. Best wishes.

I’ve been doing NST twice a week, and honestly I thought that was completely normal and everyone did it twice a week lol. She told me they look for movement, and if I’m having contractions. Then the ultrasound is to see if they’re practicing breathing & the fluid level. They’ve also been checking for growth, and normal protocol things.

My dr is super conservative and I'll be getting NST twice a week starting at 36 weeks. I have no complicating factors, but il over 35 years old so they do it as an extra precaution for "advanced maternal age". I won't be getting ultrasounds though.

It’s for the GD. I was diagnosed this pregnancy and they monitor my fluid levels weekly. Plus side is a get to see my little sweetie every week. I go in next Friday at 38 weeks to be induced due to it as well.
